AlbeZakes_circleRecently named one of the PR News “Rising Stars of PR 2012”, a PR News “Social Media MVP for 2014”, Albe rose from marketing department intern to become Global Vice President of Communications, for TerraCycle, a fast-growing, innovative recycling company based in Trenton, NJ. Since 2007, Albe and his PR department have secured over 15,000 unique media placements and over $250 million dollars in ad value for TerraCycle’s products and corporate partners. Albe was integral in the transformation of TerraCycle from a small start-up into a successful and highly visible business operating in 23 countries on 4 continents and counting Kraft Foods, Frito-Lay, L’Oreal, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Proctor & Gamble and PepsiCo among its partners. The company earned Cause Marketing Forum’s Cause Marketing Halo Award in 2013.

After spending two months as a PR intern he was offered a full-time position. In the seven years since that promotion, Albe worked his way to run virtually all of the company’s marketing globally. With little PR experience he helped TerraCycle battle Scotts Miracle-Gro, by running the “Sued by Scotts” Blog, which helped to defeat the lawsuit, brought against TerraCycle by the fertilizer giant. Under Albe’s management the PR department has secured appearances for his CEO on Oprah, Good Morning America, The Today Show, 20/20, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC and many more. Albe also places feature articles in hundreds of major business and consumer magazines and newspapers including the USA Today, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Reader’s Digest, Time, Newsweek and many more. Today, TerraCycle conducts 100% of their PR efforts in-house and does no paid advertising. Using almost no budget to secure marketing opportunities and media coverage around the globe. In addition to extensive PR efforts, Albe writes and edits TerraCycle’s columns for over fifteen 3rd party publications including the New York Times, Inc. Magazine, Treehugger and Huffington Post. Albe is also the Producer and stars in TerraCycle’s two TV shows, including the forthcoming “Human Resources” premiering Friday August 8th on Pivot TV.

Albe’s speaking platforms include the United Nations, Harvard University, Harvard Business School, Wharton School of Business, Stern School of Business, the Jefferson Innovation Summit, the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Environmental Protection, Association of National Advertisers, PR News Summits, the Cause Marketing Forum, NYC Social Media Summit, Sustainable Brands 2012, the American Horticultural Society, as well as countless ‘green’ and business conferences including the HBA Global Beauty Summit and Go Green Expos.
