John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer, Children’s Miracle Network, Canada

john_hartman_circle2Children’s Miracle Network is an organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness for children’s hospitals and healthcare. In John’s current capacity he oversees all operations, planning and aspects of the business in Canada as well as any developing opportunity outside of North America. Children’s Miracle Network was established in 1983 and currently helps support over 170 hospitals worldwide – 14 in Canada.

John joined Children’s Miracle Network in March of 2004 to head up the Canadian Operations. In this capacity the full team of eleven people has helped foster dramatic revenue and brand growth in creating strategic partnerships with such top organizations as Walmart, TD Bank, Air Canada, RE/MAX Canada, Marriott and Dairy Queen, as well as developing programs in various media forums, youth based markets and helping to support the strategic investment in “innovation” . Revenues have grown from $16 million in 2004 to $49.6 million in 2013. Building partnerships, alliances and keeping “kids first” in all aspects of the operations has resulted in both growth and future potential.

Prior to joining Children’s Miracle Network, John held a number of senior positions with United Way – locally, nationally and internationally, as well as spending four years heading up Juvenile Diabetes Canada fund raising team. Prior to entering this sector John spent over 15 years with various leading Canadian private organizations in marketing, public relations, human resources and sales.

Children’s Miracle Network Canada is committed to generating funds for children’s healthcare and in building partnerships with its national partners and 14 children’s member hospitals. In his personal time John is an avid cook, gardener, enjoys the odd game of golf and spending time with his family.
