As president and CEO of LIFT Philanthropy Partners, Bruce plays a lead role in positioning venture philanthropy as an effective way to improve the impact and effectiveness of social purpose organizations in Canada. Bruce leads the organization in delivering its highly engaged, specialized approach that includes hands-on management support from the LIFT team, business expertise from its national network of pro bono partners, and strategic funding. Using this approach, LIFT builds the capacity, sustainability and impact of non-profits and social enterprises and other organizations working to remove barriers to health, education, skills development and employment for vulnerable and at-risk Canadians.

Before launching LIFT, Bruce was CEO of 2010 Legacies Now, the non-profit organization responsible for establishing social legacies around the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Prior to working in the social sector, Bruce was president of a consulting firm where he worked with international companies and public agencies to develop and implement strategic growth plans. Bruce has a master of science in management of technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has presented at conferences and post-secondary institutions worldwide on international business, entrepreneurship, cultural tourism, and social development.
